HEADLINERS
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate a long, consistent history of continued performance excellence in a wide variety of venues and “vibes”.
From the full-production big stage at Crowbar down to the super intimate / chill vibe at DunBrew, Headliners are competent and confident in a wide variety of environments, and can “play to the room”.
Have all the requisite professional equipment and knowledge to operate it independently.
This means having quality instruments, amplifiers, a full PA system with all necessary mics, stands, cables, power supplies, power conditioners, extension cords, and the ability to safely operate the PA / run full sound independently. This means understanding gain, faders, gain staging, inputs/outputs, speaker placement, equalization, compression, aux inputs, sound checking practices for crowd safety, feedback elimination, and appropriate leveling.
Have an updated EPK complete with current live video, professional photography, published recorded audio, biography, media reviews, and event history.
If you’ve ever done a Crowbar or two, chances are you already have most of this. That’s kinda the idea. :)
Have a full set of at least 60 minutes of tightly-rehearsed material to suit a variety of events.
If you can’t fill the time, you ain’t finna get the time, Fam. Stock up on that repertoire!
TL;DR: Headliners must be dope.
Headliners have transitioned from “kid in a music lesson” to fully-fledged young professional artists who can capably and consistently deliver professional, polished performances. If this isn’t you quite yet, don’t stress! We’ll get there eventually. In the meantime, watch what these people do and learn from them.
